Russell Howard Tynes

Russell Howard Tynes, Sr., 84 of the Caney Fork Rd. Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Monday, March 23, 2009, at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Kentucky. He was born Tuesday, September 30, 1924 in Butler Co., Kentucky, the son of the late Virgil Tynes and the late Huldah Franklin Hightower Tynes. He was the husband of Kathleen Tynes, who survives. He was a farmer, Chairman - Butler Co. Water Board, Elder - Bald Knob Cumberland Presbyterian Church, member of the Little Muddy Water Shed Committee and Trustee of Smith Cemetery. Surviving are sons, Randy Tynes - (Gina) of Morgantown, KY and Russell "Rusty" Tynes, Jr. - (Teresa) of Lewisburg, KY, daughter, Kathi Steenbergen - (Doug) of Lewisburg, KY, sister, June McKinney of Auburn, KY; 8 grand children; Cass Whitescarver of Russellville, KY, Tenille Tynes of Morgantown, KY, Heather Johnson of Lewisburg, KY, Kelby Tynes of Morgantown, KY, Casey Steenberger of Lewisburg, KY, Jon Givens of Lewisburg, KY, Clay Russell Tynes of Morgantown, KY, Cole Tynes of Morgantown, KY and 3 great grand children. He was predeceased by daughter, Ginger Carole Tynes. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Bald Knob Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 102 Bald Knob Church Rd. Russellville, Kentucky 42276 with the Rev. Byron Dumas and Rev. Sam Romines officiating. Interment will be in Smith Cemetery, Logan Co., KY. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM to Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, Kentucky and again after 12:00 Noon on Wednesday March 25, 2009 at Bald Knob Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 102 Bald Knob Church Rd. Russellville, Kentucky.
