Phillip Nash age 66 of the Green Ridge community of Lewisburg KY passed away on July 19 2017 at his home, in his recliner, to go and be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was born on August 22 1950 to Willie Lee “Bill” and Houston Alice Nash in Green Ridge community of Logan County, KY. Phillip was first and foremost a great Christian man. He was a member of Green Ridge Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and song leader and other various roles in the church. Phillip was retired from Rockwell/BTR of 36 years where he was a furnace room technician. Phillip was probably most well known for being a great taxidermist for all the hunters and fishermen in the area. Phillip also loved being a hunter and fishermen himself, even appearing with Tim Farmer on Kentucky Afield doing some jig pole fishing and many people know him as the “Jig Pole Man”. Phillip also loved his Tennessee walking horses and went trail riding frequently on his horse named Trouble. Phillip was also an assistant archery coach at Lewisburg Elementary and loved seeing the kids do well at archery tournaments. Phillip was a graduate of Lewisburg high school class of 1968. Phillip was also a Kentucky Colonel. Phillip’s other interest was he loved watching and following University Of Kentucky Wildcat basketball, the Dallas Cowboys Football, the Boston Celtics, the NHRA and the PBR. Phillip is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife Judy Carol Pursley Nash. They were happily married for 48 years. His son Jeremy Ray Nash and wife Amy of Austin, TX. His Daughter Carol Lee Lawrence and husband Jason of Lewisburg, KY. Grandchildren Cheyenne Anderson, Daylan Lawrence, and Jordyn Lawrence of Lewisburg, KY. His siblings Jimmy Nash and wife Wanda of Russellville KY, Roger Nash and wife Annie of Lewisburg KY, Dorothy Campbell and her late husband John of White Plains KY, In-laws James and wife Virginia Pursley of Lewisburg, KY. Also several nieces and nephews and other family members, as well as many, many great friends and customers. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents Willie Lee (Bill) and Houston Alice Nash. Services for Phillip will be Saturday July 22 at 2pm at Green Ridge Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 3pm Friday July 21 at Green Ridge Baptist Church and will begin after 10:00 on Saturday until the time of the funeral. He will be laid to rest at Green Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Price Funeral Home, Inc., Lewisburg, KY is in charge of arrangements.
