Perry Newman Forsythe

Perry Newman Forsythe, age 80 was born Dec. 1, 1931 to Rev. Raymond and Altha (Perry) Forsythe. He was one of 11 children. He was preceded in death by his parents : siblings: Hayes, Willard, Walter, John Thomas (JT) Forsythe and Christine Hood. Perry left us Sept. 19, 2012 at 7:49 PM after a lengthy illness. Perry is survived by his wife of 59 yrs, Elwanda (Cox)Forsythe, three children: Rita (Neil) Mefford of Central City, KY, Rev.Randall (Jean) Forsythe of Portage, IN, and Jeffrey (Nancy) Forsythe of New Carisle, IN. Six grand children, whom he loved dearly: Michael (Sennur) Walters of Pa. Kenneth, Keith, Jacob, Elizabeth, and Daniel Forsythe all of IN. Three step grand daughters: Erin Felke, Alissa (Dave) Finch, Mary (Jared) Mann of IN. One great grand son, Aiden Kaan Walters of PA. Six step great grand children: Isabell and Tristan Felke, Logan and Olivia Finch, Kyle and Adison Mann of IN. Perry is survived by Siblings Edward Forsythe of North Pekin, IN, Olean Forsythe of Foley, AL, Odene Forsythe of Foley, AL, Earl Forsythe of Atlanta, GA , and Dora (Ron) Hoffmann of Bowling Green, KY. He was blessed with a large number of nieces and nephews and good friend Mike Porter. Perry served in the Korean Conflict 1950-1953. He was a 30-yr. steel worker in Northwest Indiana, retiring and returning to Ky. in 1983. He was a licensed baseball umpire, involved in Little League, High School, and Youth leagues and also church softball. He enjoyed bowling, and hunting. Perry loved tending to his herd of cattle and working in his garden. He was a member of Orchard Drive Baptist Church in Ind. and then Penrod Baptist Church, Penrod, Ky. The visitation will be Tuesday Sept. 25, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, Ky. 42256 Visitation will also be Wednesday Sept. 26, 2012 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the Penrod Baptist Church. Service will be at 11 AM Sept. 26, 2012.
