Opal E. Smotherman, 97 of Auburn, Kentucky died on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at her home in Auburn, Kentucky. She was born Tuesday, May 9, 1916 in Logan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Cleen Sweatt and the late Erma Penrod Sweatt. She was the wife of the late Simpson E. Smotherman. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are son, Fred Smotherman of Auburn, KY, several nieces and nephews, 2 step-grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, Kentucky 42256 with the Bro. Gene Bracken officiating. Interment will be in Chandlers Chapel Cemetery, Auburn, KY. The family will receive friends after 4:30 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E.
