Odessa Oglesby Johnson

Odessa will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. She was born in Everett, located in North Logan County near Lewisburg, on May 18, 1922, to the late Arthur Burnside Oglesby and Pearlie Alice Henderson Oglesby. She attended Tunstill School for eight years. She worked at General Electric in Owensboro, KY while her husband Leander Boyd was serving in the European Theater. After WWII, she was a housewife and farmer. The Lord saved Odessa by His grace at age 17 in July of 1939. She was preceded in death by: Her husband of 51 years, Leander Boyd Johnson, and a daughter, Liticia Johnson Bilyeu Three brothers: Murley Oglesby (Gladys) Colie Oglesby (Mildred) Sanford Oglesby Two sisters: Beatrice Oglesby Brown (Shorty) Lola Oglesby Harris (Carl) She is survived by: A daughter: Phyllis Johnson Causey (Larry) of Bowling Green, KY Two sons: Russell Johnson (Debbie) and Rodney Johnson (Karen) of Lewisburg, KY Grandchildren: Amanda Johnson Jepson of Lewisburg, KY Chad Johnson (Mica) of Auburn, KY Anthony Fowler of Lewisburg, KY Charlsie Daniel (Michael) of Elkton, KY Matthew Johnson (Sarah) of Chattanooga, TN Todd Causey (Heather) of Bowling Green, KY Ken Causey of Bowling Green, KY Michael Bilyeu of Olmstead, KY Great-grandchildren: Grace, Aubrie, Emma, and Addie Johnson Will Jepson, Alyssa Causey, and Kayden Bilyeu Micah, Mayson, and Mattie Daniel In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptish Church (7434 Duncan Ridge Rd, Lewisburg, KY 42256) or Russellville Baptist Church (Chad Johnson, 897 Sycamore Rd, Auburn, KY 42206) A special thanks to care givers Mary Ann, Steve Henry, Myranda and Clarisa Duke and family, and Dr. Mike Collins. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday December 11, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Johnson, Albert Clardy, Jim Duke, and Thurman Harris officiating. Interment will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. There will also be visitation on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home on Thursday before the funeral.
