Maxine Cook Gardner, 91 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was born Friday, March 20, 1925, the daughter of the late James Cook and the late Marie Givens Gardner. She was the wife of the late Pendleton "Pen Joe" Gardner. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years. Surviving are son, Dwight C. Gardner of Morgantown, KY, daughter, Maxie Joe Miller of Indian Springs, AL, sister, Betty Sandfur of Louisville, KY; 7 grand children; 8 great grand children. She was predeceased by son, Pendelton Douglas Gardner. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, Kentucky 42256 with Rev. Raleigh Blancett officiating. Interment will be in Gardner Cemetery, Lewisburg, KY.
