James V. Rives, Sr., 82 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at his residence in Lewisburg, Kentucky. He was born Saturday, March 31, 1934 in Lewisburg, Kentucky, the son of the late Chester Rives and the late Edna Watkins Rives. He was the husband of Joann Grise Rives, who survives He was a semi truck driver, a deacon at New Hebron Baptist Church, and a member of the Muhlenberg Baptist Association. Also surviving are sons, Robert (Rowdy) Rives of Russellville, KY and James (Jr) V. Rives, Jr. of Lewisburg, KY, daughters, Fredia Rives of Lewisburg, KY and Donna Rives of Williamsburg, KY, sister, Annalou Emery of Louisville, KY; 3 grand children; 5 great grand children. A Funeral service will be at 2:30 PM on Friday at Rock Springs Cemetery with Bro. Ken Abbott officiating. Interment will also be in Rock Springs Cemetery, Butler Co., KY.
