James "Pete" Talmadge Smith, 81 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Maple Manor Health Care Center in Greenville, Kentucky. He was born Tuesday, July 8, 1930 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Preacher Smith and the late Midge Spicer Smith. He was the husband of Brenda Smith who survives. He was a retired Boilermaker and Operator with TVA. He served in the Navy. He was a Veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Surviving are sons, Talmadge Douglas Smith and Ed Coker - (Stephanie) of Lexington, KY, daughter, Shannon Bryant - (Michael) of Springfield, TN, sisters, Lorene Smith of Nashville, TN and Geneva Smith of Naples, FL; granddaughters, Megan Bryant of Springfield, TN and Tabetha Carver (Steven) of Clarksville, TN. He was predeceased by son, Kenny Smith and wife of 40 years, Ruth Ann (Raines) Smith. A Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with the Bro.
