Jacob Carl "J.C." Key, 91 of Lewisburg, Kentucky passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at The Waters of Springfield in Springfield, Tennessee.


He was born Friday, August 11, 1933, the son of the late James "Orby" Key and the late Cora Lear Key. He was the husband of Barbara Johnson Key of Lewisburg, who survives.


J.C. was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having honorably served his country in Korea. During his service, J.C. was wounded in combat and received a Purple Heart Medal.


After his military service, J.C. worked at the Logan County Road Department and was a farmer. He was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and the Lewisburg Lions Club.


Also surviving are two daughters, Vivian Milam of Lewisburg, KY, Shellie (Don) Tomes of Russellville, KY; two sons, Rickey Key of Russellville, KY, Jeff Key of Russellville, KY; step-daughter, Tonia (Travis) Waid of Franklin, KY; step-son, Tony Ashby of Lewisburg, KY; 9 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren.


He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Whitson Key; sister, Sara Imogene Herdon, brother, James Otis Key; step-grandson, Cooper Waid.


A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg; with Bro. Tim Nugent and Bro. Ronnie Forrest officiating. Interment will be in Elk Lick Cemetery.


The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday at Price Funeral Home, Inc.
