Ernest McElwain, 88 of the Jess Winn Rd. Belton, Kentucky died on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, Kentucky. He was born Monday, December 13, 1920 in Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky, the son of the late Herschel McElwain and the late Eva (Joines) McElwain. He was the husband of the late Christobel Grace (Winn) McElwain. He was a farmer and member of the Hortons Chapel Church of Christ where he severd around 50 years as an Elder. He served as a Seaman Second Class in the Navy from 1944 until 1946. He was a Veteran of World War II. He also served as a: FSA Committee Member Past Member of Southern States Coop Bd - Russellville Past Member Mud RIver Watershed Bd. Past Member Muhlenberg Co. Cattlemans Assoc. Surviving are daughters, Anita Crafton - (Ray) of Belton, KY and Linda Moore - (Loyd) of Belton, KY, sisters, Nell Casebier of Owensboro, KY and Donnie Lynn of Maryville, TN; 3 grand children; Kelly Henson - (Bill) of Belton, KY, Melanie Moore of Nashville, TN, and Greg Moore - (Daphne) of Madisonville, KY 2 great grand children; Hunter Henson and Haley Henson of Belton, KY. He was predeceased by brothers, Carl McElwain and Arlis McElwain. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, Kentucky 42256 with the Mr. Kenneth Joines and Mr. Paul Moore officiating. Interment will be in Hortons Chapel Cemetery, Belton, KY. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, Kentucky. Funeral Home: Price Funeral Home, Inc. 252 E.
