David Robert Preston, 68, of Lewisburg, formerly of Covington, Bowling Green, and Marathon, FL, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, at his home. Son of the late Robert “Bob” and Ann Preston, David was born in Bowling Green on February 28, 1951. He is survived by his son Casey (Robin) Preston of Mayfield, KY, three grandchildren, Keeton Preston, Emma Preston, and Alex Preston, all of Mayfield, brothers, Dean Preston (Donna), and Rob Preston, and sister, Edie Jones (Johnny), and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, James “Greg” Preston. He was a 1969 graduate of BGHS, a veteran of the US Navy, and a 1976 graduate of WKU with a BA degree in English. David never met a stranger and enjoyed good times with his family and friends. He touched many lives with His lifelong love of music and his passion for sharing it. He was known far and wide for his, soulful voice, and could often be found singing the blues at the nearest “jam session”, earning him the nickname “Hoochie Coochie Man”. Not only a talented singer, David played by trumpet and drums and was a member of several different bands throughout his lifetime. Cremation was chosen with no public services.
