Bro. Richard Davis Clement

Richard Davis Clement, 86, of Lewisburg, Kentucky, died October 27, 2017, at his home on Peach Orchard Road. Rev. Clement was born January 7, 1931, in Mortons Gap, Kentucky, to William and Irene (Nourse) Clement. He graduated in the class of 1949 from Madisonville High School in Madisonville, KY, and was honored the Good Citizenship Award. He continued his education at the University of Kentucky where he was elected 4H President of Kentucky and later graduated from Georgetown College, in 1954. He completed a Master of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, in 1964. After pastoring churches in Kentucky, Florida, and Indiana, he was appointed as a missionary by the Sothern Baptist Convention in October of 1965. Brother Clement and his wife Barbara Ann (Hargrave) Clement served in Costa Rica, Ecuador and Venezuela for over 25 years. After retirement Richard returned to his Western KY roots to Pastor and to farm during the latter years of his life. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Ann (Hargrave) Clement of Lewisburg, KY; son David Clement (Susan) of Lexington, KY; daughter Brenda Wilson (Rick) of Georgetown, KY; son Bill Clement (Kay) of Tampa, FL; bonus daughter Mary Prado Harrington (Brett) of Indianapolis, IN; bonus son Tony Adler (Brenda) Lewisburg, KY; sister Judith Alender Louisville, KY; sister-in-law Betty (Hargrave) Richards of Graceville, FL; 7 grandchildren Richard (Kristin), Nathan, Matthew (Jenna), Kyle (Heather), and Jonathan (Stephanie) Clement, Clay (Denee) and Weston (Amber) Wilson; and 6 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Arrangements are with Price Funeral Home, Inc. in Lewisburg, KY. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the funeral home at 252 E Green Street, Lewisburg, KY 42256 and from 9:30 AM until time of Service on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at 954 Stacker Street, Lewisburg, KY 42256. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with interment at Martin Cemetery on Peach Orchard Road in Lewisburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Gideon’s International and The Southern Baptist Lottie Moon Christmas offering.
